The government released the public accounts, government's annual
strategic plan report and annual service plan reports for all ministries
on June 27, 2003.
The annual service plan reports summarize the progress of individual
ministries, as well as the government as a whole, in meeting the
performance targets laid out in service plans at the beginning of
each fiscal year.
To improve the timeliness of performance reporting, the government
amended the Balanced Budget and Ministerial Accountability Act in
August 2001 to require every government organization to release
its annual service plan report within five months of its fiscal
year-end. [news
